On April 27th, the Commendation Conference for Advanced Collectives, Model Workers and Advanced Workers of the National Industrial and Information Technology System was held in Beijing. The Laboratory of Structure and Immunology of our institute was awarded the title of Advanced Collective of the National Industrial and Information Technology System.

In recent years, the Laboratory of Structure and Immunology led by Professor Huang Zhiwei of our institute has achieved a series of major innovative research results. It has first resolved the structures of human resting and activated TCR complexes as well as human B cell receptor; elucidated the immune response mechanism of SARS-CoV-2 infection; deciphered the antagonistic mechanism of HIV virulence factors; developed new gene editing tools; and revealed the mechanisms of bacterial adaptive immunity and phage antagonism. These achievements have laid a theoretical foundation for understanding the immune-related mechanisms of major human diseases, developing immunotherapies and new gene editing tools. Some of the contents have been included in classic textbooks, representing important contributions by Chinese scientists in the field of basic immunology.
